The general trademark of a manufacturer by which the consumer knows its products. A manufacturer can have multiple brand names. Some manufacturers license their brand names to other producers.
Product name:
Product name is a brand's identification of a product, often a model name, but not totally unique as it can include some product variants. Product name is a key part of the Icecat product title on a product data-sheet.
Product code :
The brand's unique identifier for a product. Multiple product codes can be mapped to one mother product data-sheet if the specifications are identical. We map away wrong codes or sometimes logistic variants.
Category :
A webcam is a digital video camera that has to be connected directly to a computer or network and cannot be used seperately. Webcams are perfect for video calling and chatting: finally you can see your faraway friends or family while talking/chatting! Network attached webcams can be used as affordable security cameras.
Data-sheet quality: created/standardized by Icecat
The quality of the product data-sheet can be on several levels:
only logistic data imported: we have only basic data imported from a supplier, a data-sheet is not yet created by an editor.
created by Canon: a data-sheet is imported from an official source from a manufacturer. But the data-sheet is not yet standardized by an Icecat editor.
created/standardized by Icecat: the data-sheet is created or standardized by an Icecat editor.

Network surveillance/security cameras with built-in server

Superior optical performance
Utilising a Genuine Canon 26x power zoom lens with 12x digital zoom, the VB-C50i produces close-up images with exceptional detail, ensuring a high level of surveillance from a distance. The camera features a remote controlled Pan and Tilt mechanism with a wide 200° pan and 120° tilt range. It also offers an Infrared Night Mode capable of capturing black and white images in low light conditions and even in complete darkness.

High quality video capture with smooth network transmission
The camera is capable of capturing video at up to 25 frames per second (bandwidth permitting) and has a 400K pixel CCD for smooth, high quality video. The video quality and frame rate can be set freely to suit the network bandwidth, producing natural, life-like images. A high 768 x 576 resolution enables a large, accurate image without any loss of detail. Plus transmitted images can reach the widest possible audience - up to 50 users at the same time - while still providing a clear and sharp picture.

Compact, flexible and user-friendly
Both the camera and server are housed in a single, compact unit enabling discreet yet highly effective surveillance. What's more, installation of the network camera is exceptionally simple. Just two connections are required to start streaming live video - a power supply and a connection to your existing LAN. The end result is an all-in-one network camera solution that can be set up immediately, offering full, flexible and easy interactive control for users.

Advanced functions to enhance effectiveness
Remote control software provides full control of Pan/Tilt/Zoom functions - either via a PC or platforms compatible with the supplied Java viewer (i.e. Mac, UNIX). A Panoramic Image Mode allows a series of still images to be collected to create a complete panoramic view, which can be used to set PTZ limits. An audio signal can be added to live transmission simply by attaching an optional external module to the VB camera. Motion Detection and Auto Tracking enable the camera to pan and tilt once motion is detected, capturing any movement automatically. The camera can even be configured to send an email alert or turn on high-powered security lighting when motion is detected

Maximum frame rate*
This is the maximum frame rate, also known as frame frequency and frames per second (FPS). It is the frequency (rate) at which an imaging device produces unique consecutive images called frames. The term applies equally well to film and video cameras, computer graphics, and motion capture systems. Frame rate is most often expressed in frames per second (FPS) and is also expressed in progressive scan monitors as hertz (Hz).
25 fps
Optical zoom
Indicates the optical zoom capacity, which is the number of times that the picture can be enlarged with the optics of the camera.
Digital zoom
Indicates the digital zoom capacity, the number of times that the picture is enlarged thanks to digital technology.
Focal length range (f-f)
Measure of how strongly the system converges or diverges light. For an optical system in air, it is the distance over which initially collimated rays are brought to a focus. A system with a shorter focal length has greater optical power than one with a long focal length; that is, it bends the rays more strongly, bringing them to a focus in a shorter distance. For an optical system in air, the effective focal length (f and f′) gives the distance from the front and rear principal planes (H and H′) to the corresponding focal points (F and F′).
3.5 - 91 mm
Camera shutter speed
Determines the length of time the shutter lets light pass through the lens to the CCD. Shutter speed and aperture together determine exposure.
Viewing angle, horizontal
Maximum horizontal angle at which a display can be viewed with acceptable visual performance.
Minimum illumination
Also known as light sensitivity, this is the smallest amount of light needed for the camera to produce an image of useable quality.
1 lx
Operating temperature (T-T)
The minimum and maximum temperatures at which the product can be safely operated.
0 - 40°C
Colour of product*
The colour e.g. red, blue, green, black, white.
Sensor type
A sensor is a convertor than measures a physical quality (light, temperature etc.) and displays this electronically on a device.
Optical sensor size
Optical sensors are electronic detectors that convert light, or a change in light, into an electronic signal. They are used in many industrial and consumer applications e.g. lamps that turn on automatically in response to darkness. Optical sensors come in many sizes.
Tilt angle
-30 - 90°
